Sublime Lechuguilla

Lechuguilla Cave, located in New Mexico, USA, is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and best-protected caves on the planet. Since its discovery in 1986, more than 240 kilometres of cave has been explored – with no end in sight. Owing to its geologic setting and unusual process of formation involving sulphuric acid, the cave contains an extraordinary diversity of rare minerals and bizarre formations. The most iconic place in the cave is the ‘Chandelier Ballroom’, which features glistening gypsum crystal aggregates up to six metres long suspended from the ceiling.
